Authorize.Net CIM: Invalid value for 'validationMode': 'none'

Modified on Mon, 16 Sep at 1:54 PM

If you are getting an error on your store about the validation mode being set to an invalid value and have upgraded the extension from a version pre-5.0 you may encounter this error if you were previously using the deprecated "none" validation mode.

As this mode was deprecated prior, the mode has now been removed and a new validation mode must be selected and saved. The closest validation mode to the old "none" type will be "Validate fields and expiration date".

To resolve this issue, navigate to the payment extensions configuration to choose a new validation mode and save the configuration:

Magento Admin -> Stores -> Configuration -> Sales -> Payment Methods -> Authorize.Net CIM-> Validation Type

Please note, an existing validation mode will already show as selected but the database will not have updated until you click on "Save Config".
